May 12, 2010 Business Administration Dept. Davis & Elkins College Elkins, WV 26241 304-637-1239 Recommendation of Stefanie Ogden: The purpose of this letter is to give my strongest possible recommendation and support for Stefanie Ogden. I have known Stefanie since she arrived at Davis and Elkins College (D&E) in the summer of 2006. I have also gotten to know her as a valued employee for Peebles Department Store and Mountain Valley Bank for the past several years. She has been in numerous of my classes during her four years and participated in many Business Department organizations with which I am associated. She is a superlative student; very intelligent, personable, hardworking, curious and interested. She was very active in all aspects of Davis & Elkins College, especially the Business and the Education Department organizations and activities. Stefanie mastered the material in each of my classes. She worked very hard to stay at the top of the class in each course that she attempted. I require several group and individual projects during my classes. These projects are designed to expand the students' creative thought processes and research skills. Stefanie’s projects were consistently superb, always exceeding my expectations. They were creative, well thought out, researched professionally, and presented with mastery well above her peers. Stefanie will graduate on the 16th of May 2010 with a triple major in Management, Marketing and Business Education, having completed 186 semester hours in four years with a grade point average of 3.8. This includes a highly successful practicum in banking and acclaimed student teaching at Randolph Technical Center. Just as important as her performance as a student, Stefanie has impressed me as an exceptional young woman. D&E is a very small school and Elkins, WV is a small town. I have had the opportunity to observe her in a great variety of situations. She is the epitome of an achiever, in the very best sense, and I am privileged to know her not just as a student, but also as a friend. Stefanie will be a “super star” in whichever, or all of, the career(s) she chooses. Stefanie has my highest possible recommendation for any employment opportunity in business or education. She excelled academically at D&E. Her moral character and behavior is not exceeded. I place her, in potential and performance, in the top two or three of the hundreds of students I have taught in the past 18 years. H. G. Henderson Associate Professor |
